Venue Layouts

Layouts define how a venue is configured for events. The same physical space can have different layouts-theatre-style seating for plays, cabaret tables for comedy, or standing room for concerts.

Layout Components

Layout
├── Areas (sections of seating)
│ └── Seats (individual seat positions)
└── Categories (price tiers)

Areas vs Categories

  • Areas = Physical sections (Stalls, Circle, Balcony)
  • Categories = Price tiers (Premium, Standard, Restricted)

A seat belongs to one area AND one category. The area says where it is, the category determines its price tier.

Common Layout Types

  • Seated - Theatre, concert hall, arena
  • General Admission - Standing areas, festival grounds
  • Mixed - Some seated sections, some GA
  • Tables - Cabaret, dinner shows, galas
