Event Occurrences

Occurrences are specific dates and times when an event happens. A single event can have multiple occurrences-like a theatre show running for a week, or a concert with matinee and evening performances.

Event vs Occurrence

  • Event = The show/concert/match itself (e.g., "Hamlet")
  • Occurrence = A specific performance (e.g., "Hamlet - Sat 7pm")

Occurrence Lifecycle

Scheduled → On Sale → Sold Out / Cancelled → Completed

Key Features

  • Capacity tracking - Automatic availability updates
  • Individual pricing - Override event-level prices per occurrence
  • Hold management - Reserve tickets before public sale
  • Door management - Control check-in and attendance

Common Patterns

  • Single occurrence: One-off events like galas
  • Run of shows: Same event, multiple dates
  • Multiple daily: Matinee + evening performances
